Plan TikTok on a runway, not a countdown.
TikTok Studio's scheduler reaches ten days, on a desktop browser, for standard video only, and starts every next upload from the defaults again. OctoSpark queues TikTok video and photo carousels on whatever date the campaign needs, carries every publish-time option TikTok accepts on the draft, and hands the media to TikTok only when the slot arrives.
- TikTok Studio's real ceiling: ten days, desktop web, video only
- TikTok's own publish-time toggles ride on the draft, not on your memory
- Photo carousels queue alongside video, which TikTok Studio will not do

The honest answer
Does TikTok have a built-in scheduler?
Yes. TikTok Studio has a free built-in scheduler on desktop web. Switch on Schedule video during upload and pick a time from 15 minutes to 10 days ahead. It requires a Creator or Business account, works for standard video only, and cannot be reached from the TikTok mobile app.
the Upload screen in TikTok Studio at tiktok.com, opened in a desktop browser, where a Schedule video toggle sits with the post settings and reveals a date and time picker Gated behind: A Creator or Business account. TikTok hides the schedule toggle from personal accounts entirely, and switching account type is free in settings..
Ten days is the entire horizon
TikTok Studio's picker refuses any date more than 10 days out, and anything closer than 15 minutes from now. There is no setting to widen it. Older guides quote different windows because TikTok has moved this ceiling before, so trust the picker in front of you rather than any article, this one included.
Desktop browser only
The Schedule video toggle exists in TikTok Studio on the web and nowhere else. Neither the iOS nor the Android app has any scheduling control, so queuing from a phone means loading tiktok.com and requesting the desktop site.
Creator or Business accounts only
A personal account gets an upload screen with no schedule toggle at all. It is not greyed out with an upgrade prompt, it is simply absent, which is why so many people conclude TikTok has no scheduler. Converting the account type costs nothing.
Standard video and nothing else
Photo carousels, Stories, LIVE, and saved drafts all fall outside what the scheduler will take. Carousels are now among the highest-reach shapes on the platform, and they are precisely the shape TikTok Studio will not put on a timer.
A queued TikTok post cannot be edited
TikTok Studio offers no edit screen once a post is scheduled. Changing a caption, a cover frame, or the time means deleting the scheduled post and walking the upload form again from the file picker onwards.
One upload per pass, and no calendar
There is no bulk upload, no CSV import, and no grid view of what is coming. Ten days of daily content is ten separate trips through the same form, each one re-setting the same duet, stitch, and comment switches by hand.
TikTok Studio vs OctoSpark.
| Capability | TikTok Studio | OctoSpark |
|---|---|---|
| Planning past the TikTok ten-day window | TikTok Studio's date picker refuses anything more than ten days out and anything less than fifteen minutes away, so a monthly plan has to be re-entered in instalments as the window rolls forward. | The queue takes whichever date the campaign actually needs, so a launch month of TikTok clips goes in during the week the creative is finished rather than in ten-day instalments. |
| Queuing a TikTok post from a phone | The Schedule video toggle only exists in TikTok Studio on a desktop browser. The TikTok app itself has no scheduling control of any kind on either platform. | Any browser does the job, and a TikTok post also goes into the queue from a terminal or an MCP client when you are nowhere near a laptop. |
| Scheduling a TikTok photo carousel | TikTok Studio takes standard video and stops there. Carousels, Stories, and LIVE are outside what its scheduler accepts, whatever the account type. | Photo posts queue through the same draft as TikTok video, with the cover chosen by its position in the set rather than left to whatever TikTok would have picked. |
| Changing a TikTok post after it is queued | TikTok Studio gives a scheduled post no edit screen. The documented fix is to delete it and start the upload over, re-picking the cover and re-typing the caption. | A queued TikTok draft stays editable right up to the send, because the media is not handed to TikTok until publish time. |
| Duet, stitch, and comment controls | TikTok Studio shows those switches on the upload page, one post at a time, then starts the next upload from the defaults again with no memory of what you chose. | Duet, stitch, and comment state lives on the TikTok post itself and travels with the draft, so a run of six clips does not need the same six toggles set by hand six times over. |
| Declaring branded content and AI-generated video | TikTok Studio puts the disclosure toggles in the upload flow, where whether they get set depends on somebody remembering them at the end of a long evening. | Branded content, brand organic, and the AI-generated disclosure are fields on the draft, so a reviewer reads what a TikTok post declares before it goes anywhere near TikTok. |
| Picking a privacy level the account can actually use | TikTok Studio shows whichever options the signed-in account has, and you discover a restriction by opening the dropdown and reading it. | The account's own TikTok creator-info options are read before the post is assembled, so a privacy level TikTok would reject never reaches the publish call. |
| Scheduling TikTok from a script | TikTok Studio is a web page and nothing more. There is no native call that books a TikTok post for a future minute from a build step or a cron job. | One typed call books the TikTok post for a future minute, from the CLI or an MCP client, and returns structured output the next build step can read. |
What you can schedule on TikTok.
Vertical short-form TikTok video
SupportedThe 9:16 clip the For You feed is built around. TikTok accepts up to ten minutes recorded in the app and up to sixty minutes uploaded over the web, so short-form here is a habit rather than a hard rule.
The file is uploaded and confirmed processed by TikTok before the slot arrives, so a scheduled clip never fires against media that is still ingesting.
TikTok photo carousel
SupportedUp to thirty-five stills swiped one at a time, with a caption underneath and a track over the top. It has become one of the strongest-reach formats on the platform, and it is the one TikTok Studio refuses to schedule.
Photo posts are delivered by TikTok pulling the images from verified URLs rather than by a browser upload, and the cover is chosen by its index in the set.
Longer TikTok video
PartialThe multi-minute upload TikTok started allowing once it began competing for watch time. How long any individual account may post is decided by TikTok per account, not by one global number everybody shares.
Partial, and deliberately so. TikTok returns a per-account duration ceiling from its creator-info endpoint, so the check that a long upload is allowed runs against your own account rather than against a figure in a blog post.
TikTok LIVE
PlannedReal-time broadcast, gated behind a follower threshold and attached to the account rather than to a post. Scheduling a LIVE is a separate TikTok feature from scheduling an upload, and the two share nothing.
TikTok exposes no third-party endpoint for going live, so this stays on the list rather than in the product. Any scheduler claiming to queue a TikTok LIVE is claiming something no tool on the market can do.
TikTok Story
PlannedA short post that expires after 24 hours and sits on the profile instead of in the main feed. TikTok keeps it outside the native scheduler alongside drafts and LIVE.
Planned rather than built. TikTok's publishing endpoints do not accept a Story today, so it stays outside the queue until that changes rather than being faked with a timed normal post.
Which TikTok accounts work.
TikTok Business account
Business accounts get the native schedule toggle, the full analytics tab, and the Commercial Music Library in place of the general sound catalogue. This is the account type most brands end up connecting.
TikTok Creator account
Creator accounts also see the native schedule toggle and keep the wider sound library that Business accounts trade away. Either type clears TikTok's gate, so the choice is about music rights rather than about scheduling.
TikTok personal account
TikTok never shows a personal account the schedule toggle, but it will still authorise an application. What changes is the set of privacy options TikTok reports for that account, so a private profile is limited to publishing where only it can see the result.
A TikTok account several people post from
TikTok has no seat model on an account, so shared access usually means a shared password. One connected TikTok account maps to a whole workspace instead, with roles and approval gates living on our side rather than on a sticky note.
Before you connect
- A TikTok account you can sign into in a browser long enough to finish the authorisation. Consent is per account, so each handle you want in the queue is its own sign-in.
- Consent to user.info.basic, user.info.profile, video.upload, and video.publish. Those four read your identity and put a post up; analytics scopes are requested separately and only where TikTok has approved them.
- An application that has passed TikTok's content-posting audit. Until an app is audited, TikTok restricts everything it publishes to self-only visibility, which makes an unaudited integration useless for real posting no matter how good the interface is.
- Verified URL prefixes for photo posts. TikTok fetches carousel images from a URL rather than accepting a browser upload, and it only fetches from prefixes the application has verified with TikTok in advance.
- A music usage confirmation carried by every post. TikTok requires the publisher to agree to its Music Usage Confirmation as part of posting, so it travels with the post rather than being signed off once at connection time and forgotten.
TikTok publishing rules, in one table.
Read straight from the same capability matrix the product runs on, so this table cannot drift from what actually happens at publish time.
| Character limit | 2,200 | The composer counts down against this as you type, and warns you before a post can be scheduled over the limit. |
|---|---|---|
| Delete a published post | Not supported | This platform's API has no delete endpoint, so a published post has to be removed in the app itself. |
| Edit a published post | Not supported | No platform supports editing through the API here, so we surface delete and repost rather than pretending an edit worked. |
| Scheduled first comment | Not supported | The API does not accept a comment alongside the post, so first comments have to be added by hand. |
| Repost / reshare | Not supported | No API-level reshare exists on this platform, so recycling means scheduling a fresh post. |
| Engagement analytics | Not supported | This platform does not return per-post metrics to third parties, so we show delivery status rather than inventing engagement numbers. |
| Tracked short links | Not supported | Links in this surface are not clickable, so we leave your URLs untouched rather than rewriting them into something that cannot be tapped. |
| Native publish settings | 13 available | Set them per post before it goes out, including Title, Privacy level, Posting method. These are the platform's own options, passed straight through at publish time. |
How to schedule a TikTok post.
- 1
Switch the TikTok account to Creator or Business
The Schedule video toggle never renders on a personal account, so converting the account type in settings is the real first step. It is free, it takes a few taps, and it leaves every video and follower exactly where they were. Business accounts swap the general sound catalogue for the Commercial Music Library, so choose Creator if in-app music matters more to you than the extra reporting.
- 2
Connect the TikTok account you post from
One sign-in per TikTok account, Creator or Business, with posting permission granted on TikTok's own consent screen. Nothing needs pasting, and no TikTok developer account of your own is involved at any point.
- 3
Build the TikTok post once, settings and all
Write the caption, pick the cover frame or the cover photo, then set duet, stitch, comments, branded content, and the AI-generated disclosure on the draft itself. They are TikTok's own options, and they pass straight through to TikTok rather than being approximated.
- 4
Drop it further out than ten days
Put the post on the date the campaign needs rather than the date TikTok Studio's picker accepts. The queue confirms the media processed, publishes on the minute you picked, and surfaces a failure where you can see it instead of letting the post quietly not happen.
Agent native
Schedule TikTok from your terminal, an MCP client, or any agent.
The TikTok queue is an endpoint before it is a screen, so the same call runs from a terminal, from a CI step, or from Claude Code over MCP. Every option TikTok accepts at publish time is reachable as a flag on it, which means an agent producing a run of AI-assisted clips declares them as AI-generated on the way in, rather than relying on a human to remember a toggle thirty uploads deep.

- how vertical video and photo carousels are modelledTikTok is two quite different post shapes wearing one app, and a queue that treats a carousel as a video with extra pictures gets both of them wrong.
- what gets read out of a clip before it is queuedTikTok gives third parties very little back about a published post, so what is inside the file is where the useful signal has to come from instead.
- queue TikTok posts from the CLI or an MCP clientA batch of clips produced in one sitting should not need a person clicking through the upload form once per clip, twelve times, on a laptop.
TikTok scheduling, answered.
Yes. TikTok Studio, reached from tiktok.com in a desktop browser, has a Schedule video toggle on the upload screen. It is free and needs no third-party tool. It is also limited in ways most people only discover after building a plan around it.
Ten days, and no sooner than fifteen minutes from now. TikTok Studio will not accept a date outside that band, and there is no setting to widen it. Older guides quote other windows because TikTok has moved this ceiling before, so trust the picker over any article.
You need a Creator or a Business account. Personal accounts are never shown the schedule toggle at all, so it reads as a missing feature rather than a locked one. Switching account type is free and takes a few taps in settings, and it keeps your existing videos and followers.
No. There is no scheduling control anywhere in the TikTok app on iOS or Android. The nearest native workaround is opening tiktok.com in a mobile browser and requesting the desktop site, which is as unpleasant to do on a phone as it sounds.
No, and treat any tool that claims otherwise with suspicion. TikTok's music licensing covers use inside TikTok and its own sharing features, so a track from the in-app library cannot be attached from outside it. The honest workflow is to publish with audio you hold the rights to, or to add a sound in TikTok once the post is live.
There is no evidence TikTok ranks a scheduled upload differently from one posted by hand, and it would be a strange thing for TikTok to penalise given it ships a scheduler itself. What genuinely gets suppressed is content that breaks the rules, most often undisclosed AI or undisclosed promotion, neither of which has anything to do with timing.
Yes. TikTok requires realistic AI-generated or significantly AI-altered content to be labelled, and since 2024 it also reads C2PA content credentials to apply that label automatically. Unlabelled synthetic content risks removal and account strikes, so the disclosure deserves the same care as the caption.
Not in TikTok Studio. Its scheduler handles standard video and leaves carousels, Stories, LIVE, and drafts out entirely. Given carousels are now one of the platform's strongest formats, this single gap is what pushes most serious accounts towards an external queue.
TikTok Studio gives you no edit screen for something already queued. The fix is deleting the scheduled post and going back through the upload form, re-picking the cover and re-typing the caption, which is a real cost the first time a launch time slips by an hour.
TikTok Studio is free and queues a video ten days out on desktop web, which is genuinely enough for one person posting a few clips a week. It stops being enough the moment you run several accounts, plan a month at a time, or publish carousels.
It holds the media and the caption on its own side and calls TikTok at the minute you picked, so the ten-day picker never enters into it. Video and photo carousels both go through the same draft, duet, stitch, comment, branded content, and AI-generated disclosure are set on that draft, and the upload is confirmed processed with TikTok before the slot arrives.
